HOW a guy with a stutter became a global public speaker
Everyone has that moment that changes everything. Mine came when I was 10 and it sparked something in me: an obsession to find my voice. What follows is how I moved through fear, failure and fraud… until speaking to thousands around the world was no longer a dream, but my reality.

Home:Kenya
I was born in Mombasa and raised in a supportive, loving home filled with languages, so from an early age my mind was wired with navigating English, Swahili, and Gujrati - I was feeling, thinking, and connecting in diverse worlds from the beginning.
Then at the age of 10, everything changed.
It all happened in an instant at the school playground and changed the course of my life.
I was asked to say my name... and when stuttered to say it, I was punched in the face.
That hurt stayed with me - not just physically, but the emotional and mental feeling of being silenced. That moment has led me on a lifelong obsession to rewire my mind.

Moving to Perth: High School & University
At 15 I moved to Perth on my own – it was a huge mind shift and frightening experience.
School and university weren’t easy. I was constantly bullied, distracted, and in trouble. I managed to find anchors to keep me grounded - football for focus, gym for structure, and house music gave me peace. Slowly I started building distraction techniques to manage my stutter, but on bad days - which were often - I would avoid seeing people and social events.
I was hiding from myself, struggling to find my voice.

Early Career
After university I stepped into a sales role - a career where you have to be fluent, concise, and confident in communication. I stumbled through meetings. I froze during presentations. I never achieved my targets. Every job felt like a failure, yet determination kept me going.

Behind The Scenes
I began a routine. In the evenings, away from everyone, I would practice - breaking down syllables, constructing sentences, layering it to music, and training my brain with rhythm and distractions. I felt lonely, but it gave me a vision.

Public Practice
Eventually I stepped into the real world to put my techniques into practice. At first, I was stiff, scripted, and formulaic. I failed repeatedly, but the failure didn't stop me, it fuelled me to keep trying.

The Obsession
For the next 10 years I lived in two worlds. By day building my career and some form of a social life, and by night an obsession grew- to embed music and distraction techniques at an elite level. Quietly and relentlessly, I worked at it until it became second nature.

Today
Today I stand on global stages, train thousands of people from across the world, and my journey - this fight to find my voice - has been captured in an award-winning documentary.
What began as a punch in the face, became my life story, and now I share it so others can find their voice too.
