Many conferences hire an MC to introduce speakers and keep the agenda moving.
That’s useful. But it’s not what I do.
I host events. The difference matters.
An MC typically manages the microphone and the agenda. A host shapes the experience of the event using conversation, storytelling, improvisation and audience interaction to connect the entire program.
My role as a host is to manage the energy of the room.
I create momentum between sessions, connect ideas across speakers, and keep the audience engaged from the opening moment to the final conversation.
How I Host Events
I approach hosting the same way I approach speaking – through storytelling, structure and audience connection.
This means:
- Opening the event in a way that immediately engages the room
- Connecting speakers and themes throughout the program
- Using conversation, humour and improv to maintain energy between sessions
- Facilitating panels and audience interaction
- Keeping the event flowing smoothly while adapting when schedules shift
I create a conference experience that feels cohesive, engaging and memorable.
